 | Covelano white marble – translucent, sugar-grained, weather resistant Covelano white marble is a chemically almost pure, highly crystalline limestone (>95% calcite) with a sugar-grained structure. Its single small crystals are optimally interleaved, show consistent grain, are hard and pressure resistant, and yet translucent and perfectely polishable. Cut into panels and put on its edge, Covelano white marble only bends at a thickness of less than 10 mm. Due to its special hardness, it features high edge toughness. The specific weight amounts to an average of 2,710 kg per cubic metre with insignificant fluctuations of 0.1 % which are never exceeded. Due to its chemical advantages favouring high weather resistance, Covelano marble is one of the rare types of white marble worldwide, which can also be used for external purposes. |
