Sculpture Garden in Covelano Marble at Castelbello

As part of the three-day Advent event ‘Advent at Castelbello Castle’, which takes place from 19 December to 21 December 2025 at Castelbello Castle, the sculptures made of Covelano Marble in the castle gardens of Castelbello Castle will be atmospherically illuminated.

For several years now, sculptures by the important Vinschgau artist Karl Grasser have been on permanent display in the private castle gardens. These are sculptures from Karl Grasser's last creative period, which were made from Covelano marble.

New transport structure for the Covelano marble quarry – fully electric truck for marble transport in 2026

On 16 December 2025, the new, fully electric 4-axle truck for marble transport was unveiled.

With 680 hp (500 kW) power and a battery capacity of 500 kWh, the Covelano marble blocks will be transported in the new 2026 quarrying season. 1,500 metres of altitude will be covered four times a day.

A pioneering new transport structure that enables environmentally friendly transport in the Stelvio National Park! A pre-Christmas gift not only for the environment, but also for everyone involved, who watched the maiden voyage of the electric truck with delight.

The marble quarry is taking a winter break!

After a very successful extraction season in 2025, our marble quarry is taking its annual winter break and will reopen in spring 2026.

As we have once again transported a large quantity of blocks from our quarry down to the valley this year, interested parties will now find full warehouses and new slabs at our factory in Silandro. Our sales staff are at your complete disposal

Mastro della pietra: Great honor for Burkhard Pohl

Burkhard Pohl was elected “Mastro della Pietra” at Marmomac 2025, together with four other distinguished personalities. They are: Burkhard Pohl, Paolo Camaiora, Tamara Plastić, Giovanni Conterno, and Charlie Gee.

The “Mastri della Pietra” award, which was established in Verona in 1319 by the Antica Libera Corporazione dell'Arte della Pietra (Ancient Free Guild of Stone Carving) and re-established at Marmomac in 1980, is presented to individuals who have promoted the field of stone technology through their work.

The winners received a cube of red Veronese marble, the guild's plaque, and a silver chisel, symbols of a heritage that is constantly evolving.
